WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?
As part of their Data Editorial business development, Stats Perform are looking for a new full-time member of their UK Data Insights team. The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of all sports, especially football. Knowledge of other sports (especially rugby union, cricket, basketball, tennis and motorsports) is an advantage.
Working in a fast-paced environment, a Data Editor will be at the forefront of sports content creation for a variety of data editorial clients across the globe, with a focus on English and European football. You will source, produce and distribute data-led content for both digital and traditional clients, as well as support internal partners within Stats Perform.
The role will require mandatory weekend and evening work.
HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)
Content creation as part of a team that delivers data editorial reports to the media, professional clubs, brands and governing bodies.
Liaise with our international data editorial teams to ensure a smooth workflow of content.
Content creation as part of a team that produces social media content.
Innovate and display creativity with new ideas on how to use data and enhance its story-telling capabilities.
DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?
A broad knowledge of and keen interest in sports, especially English Premier League football and rugby.
A knowledge of European football, mainly Spain, France, Germany, Italy.
The ability to produce data-focused editorial content and reports to a high standard.
Understanding of how raw data can be turned into compelling insight and sharable content.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) is essential.
Willingness to fit the sports schedule, working ‘shift based’ role, featuring weekend and night work. Must also be flexible and adaptable to the changing demands of the role in a diverse and multicultural global environment.
Ability to work well to tight deadlines in a highly pressurised environment.
Ability to offer creative and flexible solutions to help develop new ideas and shape innovative data-led products.
Excellent command of written and spoken English – knowledge of another language is also desirable.
