Mayweather is in Abuja and Has Vowed to Support Youth Boxers

Floyd Mayweather visits Abuja the Federal Capital Territory – this is his first time to Nigeria but second time in Africa.
The boxing legend Floyd Mayweather , has vowed to support boxing in Nigeria. Targeted mainly at the youths, Mayweather said he will bankroll boxing programme in the country in the very near future.
Speaking at a press concert held in Abuja on Sunday evening, the former world super welterweight boxing champion expressed his delight with the hospitality he received on arrival and assured that he will be back in Nigeria to train for future fights.
He also said he would most organise boxing tournaments for Nigerian youths.
In his words, Floyd Mayweather said:
“I love the continent because it is the best continent in the world. I want to say thank you to Nigeria, you guys are amazing. I want to say thank you to Ken
” I’m going to return here to train for my fights and support the youths who are into boxing. I want to thank Ken and all the sponsors, we have so many sponsors.
“I want to also say thank you to Mayweather promotions, working hands in hands with these guys every day has been truly amazing. Before I go Dubai, I needed to choose a better place and that place is Nigeria.

” I’m coming back to Nigeria to train and build on my legacy by supporting the youths here,” he said.
Floyd Mayweather is now in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. He arrived Sunday afternoon ahead of his exhibition fight against Don Moore in #Dubai next week.
Mayweather, the richest boxer of all time, was the star attraction in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday aboard his $60 million private jet, “Air Mayweather.”
Mayweather has a net worth of 450 million dollars and lifetime earnings of over 1 billion dollars.
This is his second visit to Africa. In 2014, he was visited the Republic of South Africa.

I won’t retire until I become President of Nigeria – Tinubu

Presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday said although he is of age, he would not retire from politics until he becomes President of the Nigeria..

According to the PUNCH, Bola Tinubu said this while addressing delegates and party members in Makurdi city of Benue State.

The erstwhile governor of Lagos State in his words said,

“We are of age; we can retire soon but I am not going to retire until I become President.”

He said if given the mandate, he will turn around the fortune of the country where corruption will be tackled on all fronts and ensure peaceful coexistence of Nigerians.

“I will govern with all my strength, we will work with you to reverse trend of corruption, there are elements of division but our commitment to Nigeria is for peaceful coexistence to build up and demonstrate unity and live together in peace and harmony,” he added.
